Arkansas basketball: Trevon Brazile, Devo Davis named to Preseason All-SEC Team

Ahead of SEC Media Days and the college basketball season, Arkansas was well represented in the conference’s preseason honors.

College basketball season is right around the corner as teams are gearing up for the long five-month trek towards March Madness. On Wednesday and Thursday, the SEC will hold their annual “Basketball Media Days” in Birmingham.

Ahead of the annual event, the conference released their preseason All-SEC first and second teams, which included two Arkansas Razorbacks. [autotag]Trevon Brazile[/autotag] received first team All-SEC honors and [autotag]Devo Davis[/autotag] received second team All-SEC honors. The players were chosen by a select panel of regional and national media members.

Brazile earned a first team selection despite only playing in nine games before suffering a season-ending ACL tear. In those nine games, Brazile 11.8 points on 48.1% from the field and 37.9% from three, 6.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists 1.2 blocks and 1.0 steals in 27.1 minutes per night.

Davis earns second team honors for the second time in his career (2021-22). Last season, the junior guard averaged 10.9 points on 41.5% from the field and 34.6% from three , 4.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.4 steals on his way to an SEC All-Defensive Team selection.

As a team, the Razorbacks were picked to finish third in the conference this year by the media. [autotag]Eric Musselman[/autotag]’s Hogs were behind Tennessee (No. 1) and Texas A&M (No. 2).

Arkansas will be in action this Friday night when in Bud Walton Arena for an exhibition game against UT-Tyler. There will be no TV or stream for the game, so the only way to watch is to be in attendance.
