Arkansas basketball: Top transfer Grant Nelson completes visit to Fayetteville

Arkansas basketball has officially wrapped up their official visit with the No. 1 transfer recruit in the country.

[autotag]Eric Musselman[/autotag] has one roster spot remaining for next season, and he’s swinging for the fences to fill it.

[autotag]Grant Nelson[/autotag], the former North Dakota State big man and No. 1 rated transfer prospect in the country, has officially completed his two-day visit to Fayetteville. Nelson arrived on campus Thursday afternoon to begin his official visit before leaving Friday evening.

The 6-foot-11 forward spent Tuesday and Wednesday in Tuscaloosa visiting with Nate Oats and Alabama. He was originally scheduled to take a visit to Baylor on Monday but cancelled his visit late Sunday evening. With Baylor’s visit cancelled, it’s widely believed that Nelson is only considering Arkansas and Alabama.

Nelson averaged 17.9 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.7 blocks, 52.1 FG% and 26.9 3PT% in 30.6 minutes for the Bison last season. Arkansas got an up-close look at Nelson and North Dakota State last year when they visited Fayetteville on Nov. 7. Arkansas won comfortably, 76-58, while Nelson recorded 17 points, 6 rebounds and one block in 21 minutes.

A decision is expected sooner rather than later, but there is no set time for an official announcement.
