Arkansas athletic director releases tweet and video indicating Eric Musselman is staying with Hogs

Eric Musselman appears to be staying at Arkansas, removing himself quickly from a possible USC coaching search.

The news of Andy Enfield likely going to SMU and creating a vacancy at USC has been noticed around the country. One place is Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Razorbacks know Eric Musselman comes up as a name on other schools’ lists when jobs come open. USC would naturally want to make a run at Musselman if at all possible. It seems that door has already closed.

Razorbacks Wire has more:

Musselman has been linked to jobs around the country, specifically to the open positions at SMU and Louisville.

“Fans all over Arkansas have been freaking out about losing the coach who brought the most success to Bud Walton Arena since Noland Richardson, going as far as asking his daughter about his plans for the future.

“However, it seems that fans might have their answer regarding the head Hog. Athletic director Hunter Yurachek posted a short video to X (Twitter) that suggests Musselman is staying in Fayetteville.”

This might mean Arkansas has signed Musselman to a contract extension, but regardless of that point, it’s certainly not the kind of thing a coach or an athletic director would do if the coach was strongly considering a departure for another school.
