With Indianapolis Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor currently available on the trading market, there appears to be strong interest from teams around the league.
While the Miami Dolphins have been actively reported among the teams with the strongest interest, another team in the AFC may be emerging as well.
The Denver Broncos.
Denver Sports reporter Cecil Lammey said Wednesday during an appearance on 104.3 The Fan that the Broncos were among the “most interested” teams when it comes to potential trades for Taylor.
For what it’s worth, Benjamin Allbright of KOA Radio had different tune, stating the Broncos “have no interest in paying the draft picks price or salary cost for Taylor.”
So, who actually knows how interested the Broncos would be in a trade for Taylor? With that said, they were in on the Dalvin Cook sweepstakes earlier this offseason.
Broncos Wire’s Jon Heath also believes it would be surprising to see Denver making that hypothetical trade considering the state of their backfield. That is unless a certain starter would be including in the trade.
It would be surprising to see the Broncos trade high picks for Taylor and then give him a massive contract when they already having Javonte Williams and just signed Samaje Perine this offseason. The only scenario that might make sense would be including Williams in a hypothetical trade with the Colts.
Even with the Colts wrapping up their preseason this week, this will be the dominating storyline.
Only time will tell whether the Broncos truly have an interest in making a trade for the star running back.
