Are Allen Iverson, Ben Simmons teasing new throwback ‘dazzle’ jerseys?

Philadelphia 76ers stars Allen Iverson and Ben Simmons post some cryptic tweets about throwback jerseys.

There is a lot of excitement around the Philadelphia 76ers right now. They have a new coach in Doc Rivers who will look to get the most out of a very talented group, they have a new President of Basketball Operations in Daryl Morey, and the season is set to begin in December.

However, there seems to be something new on the way when it comes to the Sixers.

Fans and players alike have been calling for the team to bring back one specific throwback jersey. The “dazzle” jerseys that were used during the Allen Iverson era when he led the team to the NBA Finals in 2001.

Iverson posted a cryptic tweet on Friday afternoon telling everyone to “be on the lookout next week” with an all-black background. This then set off bells and alarms that the jersey would be coming back to the Sixers carousel of uniforms for the 2020-21 season.

Star Ben Simmons then joined in on the cryptic Twitter train with a similar-looking tweet. He also included the black, blue, and red circle emojis for good measure.

If this does mean that the Sixers will bring back those jerseys, they will certainly make the fan base happy. They are a popular set of jerseys, however, some would argue that they are only popular due to Iverson’s popularity, but that is for another day. [lawrence-related id=38897,38886,38882]
