Arch Manning’s high school career ends as Newman is drubbed

A rough ending for Arch Manning’s great high school career

The legendary high school career of Arch Manning had a forgettable finale.

The heralded Texas recruit and his Newman teammates were clobbered in a playoff game by U-High, 49-13, on Friday.

The final quarter of his career was bad.

Manning completed 8 -f 21 passes overall for 96 yards with two interceptions and one lost fumble. One of the interceptions and the fumble were returned for touchdowns in the fourth quarter. He also had 19 rushes for 42 yards.

“Arch played his heart out. He ran all over the field. That’s a really good football team,” Newman coach Nelson Stewart said.

The interceptions were the first thrown by Manning in his senior season.
