Antoine Rozner fires final-round 64 at Golf in Dubai, earns first Euro Tour win

Frenchman Antoine Rozner certainly looked the part of a closer in the final round of the Golf in Dubai Championship.

For someone who had yet to win on the European Tour, Frenchman Antoine Rozner certainly looked the part of a closer in the final round of the Golf in Dubai Championship.

Rozner, who opened the final round four shots behind Andy Sullivan, dropped a 10-foot eagle on the 13th hole, taking his first lead of the tournament. He then added a tap-in birdie on the final hole of the day to close at 25 under and capture the victory. He finished the day with a round of 64 on the Fire Course at Jumeriah Golf Estates.

“It means a lot. It’s such a strange year,” said Rozner, who hails from Paris. “We’ve been through so much all over the world, to get it done today in such nice fashion … we knew we had to take it super deep if we wanted to win. That’s what we did. It’s amazing.”

Sullivan, who had led after each of the first three rounds, shot a 70 to finish in a four-way tie for second at 23 under. Matt Wallace, Francesco Laporta and Mike Lorenzo-Vera also finished two shots behind Rozner.

The European Tour (or half of it) stays in Dubai for the season-ending DP World Tour Championship next week.
