Anthony Richardson among ESPN’s top-32 draft prospects

Anthony Richardson remains one of the most-talked-about names in the 2023 draft, but where exactly does he stand on ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay’s big board?

The NFL draft begins in eight days and it’s no secret that former Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson is among the nation’s top prospects.

ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay rearranged his list of the top 32 draft prospects with the big event set to begin in just over a week, and Richardson lands at No. 10 overall with a grade of 91.

McShay provided a good scouting report of Richardson, highlighting his strengths and weaknesses. In the pros column are the best combine performance any quarterback has ever given and plus-plus arm strength. On the other hand, Richardson has limited experience and his footwork is a major area of concern.

Simply put, Richardson needs at least a year on the bench before even thinking about starting an NFL game.

“Richardson is the definition of a project,” McShay wrote. “His potential is tantalizing because of his elite skill set. But his game tape is extremely erratic, and he has a lot of work that needs to be done in terms of his footwork and processing skills.”

Alabama’s Bryce Young and Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud remain the Nos. 1 and 3 prospects in the draft, respectively, and should go ahead of Richardson. But McShay is giving the edge to Richardson over Kentucky’s Will Levis, so it wouldn’t be too surprising to see a team trade up into the top five to secure the former Gator.
