Anthony Davis’ top 10 games of the 2021-22 season: No. 4

After LeBron James was ejected on Nov. 21 versus the Pistons, Anthony Davis went off to make sure the Lakers left Detroit with a win.

As November 2021 progressed, the Los Angeles Lakers’ season was already starting to come apart at the seams.

LeBron James missed much of the month with an ab injury, and the team was struggling to stay above .500.

Shortly after James returned to the lineup, the Lakers took on the Detroit Pistons on Nov. 21. While jockeying for a potential rebound off a free throw early in the third quarter, he accidentally hit the Pistons’ Isaiah Stewart in the face.

Stewart was incensed and went after James multiple times, and the two were ejected.

With the Lakers trailing by 12 at the time, it was up to Anthony Davis to step up to get them back in the game without their leader.

Step things up he did. He put up 30 points on 11-of-19 shooting, 10 rebounds, six assists, four steals and five blocked shots.

Behind his dominant play, L.A. outscored Detroit 37-17 in the fourth quarter and earned itself a 121-116 victory.
