Anthony Davis on making West finals: ‘Everything is falling into place’

Anthony Davis made the third round of the NBA Playoffs for the first time in his career with the Los Angeles Lakers.

This is what Anthony Davis always wanted. Perhaps even better than he wanted. For the first time in his NBA career, the 7-time All-Star, Olympic Gold Medalist, and NCAA National Champion has made it to the Conference Finals. With his final season in New Orleans going haywire and him becoming a pariah in the media for asking for a trade after posting together six great seasons, Davis has come out shining on the other side.

The Lakers not only punched their ticket to the West Finals, but they also have the opportunity to kick their feet up, watch the NFL and continue their second Madden tournament. In the eyes of Anthony Davis this is how it was meant to be, according to Christian Rivas of SB Nation.

“It just feel like everything is falling into place,” Davis said. “When I got here obviously the goal was to win championships, and we’re eight wins away. It’s been a great process for me. It’s been great being around the guys that we have, obviously it’s been great being around ‘Bron, him helping me through it all.

“Obviously, at this point now, the Western Conference Finals is new for me, so that process is going to be fun, but it’s everything that I envisioned.”

LeBron James has gone out of his way to discuss Davis as a leader on this team. But Davis has equally been as effusive in his praise of James as the head of the snake and the leader of the team. They both found each other at the right time and it was then, all the way back in the summer of 2019, where it all started to fall into place.
