Another Wisconsin offensive lineman has entered the transfer portal

Wisconsin offensive lineman Trey Wedig has entered the transfer portal, according to a report from The Athletic’s Jesse Temple.

Wedig is another semi-high-profile Badger to enter, along with starting wide receivers Chimere Dike and Skyler Bell.

He enters the portal after having played four seasons in Madison, or three excluding his redshirt year in 2020. The veteran offensive lineman started eight games for the Badgers in 2022, five at right tackle, two at right guard and one at left guard. He then appeared in 10 games this season, logging more than 250 snaps as the team’s versatile sixth offensive lineman.

The Wales, Wisconsin native was the No. 83 player in the class of 2020, No. 7 offensive tackle and No. 1 recruit from the state of Wisconsin.

Luke Fickell’s Badgers are set to enter 2024 with depth across the offensive line, signaling a potential for fewer snaps in the future. Wedig enters the portal with two years of eligibility remaining.
