Another two honors for Notre Dame’s Hannah Hidalgo

She’s gonna win everything before this year is over.

We know most if not all of you come to this site to read about Notre Dame football. But if you want our advice, you’ll come here for the next couple of months to read about [autotag]Hannah Hidalgo[/autotag], the star freshman on the Notre Dame women’s basketball team. It seems like every time she blinks, she collects more honors.

Hidalgo’s two latest honors came Tuesday. First, she captured her third USBWA Tamika Catchings National Freshman of the Week award. Then, she made the cut for the top 20 for the John Wooden Award, which is given to the best player in women’s basketball. No Irish player ever has won that award.

If you haven’t watched the Irish women’s hoops this season, you’re missing out on one special player. Whatever Hidalgo does the rest of her collegiate career, this will be a year to remember. And the best part is the whole story on that year hasn’t been written yet.
