Another Boston radio hosts suggests Tom Brady to Giants a possibility

For the second time in as many weeks, a Boston area radio host suggests Tom Brady to the New York Giants is a very real possibility.

In late January, FOX Sports Radio personality Jason Smith made a suggestion that seemed genuinely bizarre at the time — quarterback Tom Brady signing with the New York Giants.

“How about the Giants replacing Eli Manning with Tom Brady? He could get a 3- or 4-year contract with the Giants,” Smith said. “Joe Judge just took over, who was a wide receivers coach in New England. Brady is not going to play off the map somewhere in a place like Tennessee. He’s a big star and an icon, and by being in New York Brady can be a star on and off the field, and Gisele can continue to do things she wants to do in the entertainment mecca of the United States.

“Brady is not going to Carolina just because it’s a ‘good fit.’ He’s either going to New York or Los Angeles. The Giants will do something, and either move Daniel Jones or have him sit behind Brady for a year or two. The Giants would offer everything Brady needs to continue his career, and the NFC East is one of the weakest divisions in football.”

Two weeks later and Smith’s suggestion still raises an eyebrow, but he’s not the only one in Boston thinking along those lines. In fact, some of Brady’s very close connections have apparently shared a similar thought.

On Wednesday, Boston radio host Scott Zolak of 98.5 Sports Hub’s Zolak & Bertrand said that someone very connected to Brady informed him not to sleep on the possibility of the quarterback ending up in East Rutherford.

Could Tom Brady be heading to the Big Apple this fall?

According to Zolak & Bertrand’s Scott Zolak, somebody “not from the Brady side but very connected” told him “don’t fall asleep” on the New York Giants as a possible landing spot for Tom Brady in free agency.

Again, this suggestion is hard to swallow or rationalize. The Giants have invested heavily in Daniel Jones and despite their soaring cap space, have no motivation to pay big dollars for a quarterback going into his mid-40s.

Yes, there is a Brady connection to head coach Joe Judge, but that’s where things begin and end. The Giants are set at quarterback and need to spend their money on positions of need, not another quarterback.

Ultimately, we just don’t see anything serious, realistic or possible when it comes to Brady and the Giants in free agency.
