Andrew Vaughn summed up the feeling of every White Sox fan after snapping a 10-game losing streak

“Guys … we won a baseball game!”

It would be an understatement to say it’s been a tough season for the Chicago White Sox and their fans.

We just started May, and Chicago is 8-21 as one of the MLB’s bona fide absolute worst teams. And before a rainy Sunday tilt against the juggernaut Tampa Bay Rays had lost an unthinkable 10 consecutive games.

As expected, it looked like Tampa Bay would make it 11 straight losses after holding a 9-5 lead in the ninth inning. But then the White Sox shockingly rallied with seven runs. By the end of their rally, they capped a 12-9 comeback win — in front of a mostly-empty stadium — with a three-run shot from Andrew Vaughn.

After the game, Vaughn summed up Chicago’s shocking win and their woes thus far in a hilariously succinct way:

Those White Sox fans are impossible to see in the background, but I bet if they heard what Vaughn said (and how he said it), they’d be nodding vigorously.

There’s a lot of baseball left in 2023, and maybe Chicago does get back on track. For now, Vaughn’s remarks sum up a terrible first month.
