Andre Roberson back in OKC but still not practicing with team

Although Roberson returned from Los Angeles last week, Billy Donovan said he has yet to participate in a contact practice with the team.

The wait continues for Andre Roberson.

Although he returned to Oklahoma City to continue his rehab at the end of February, there is no indication that Roberson is any closer to getting back on the court.

Roberson surprised media members when he showed up in the locker room after Oklahoma City’s win over the San Antonio Spurs on Feb. 23, his public appearance at Chesapeake Energy Arena since moving his rehab to Los Angeles at the beginning of December.

Roberson has been doing individual drills since coming back to Oklahoma City but has yet to join the Thunder for contact practices.

Billy Donovan thought that they might know more after this weekend, but according to Maddie Lee of The Oklahoman, Roberson did not participate in team practice on Sunday.

As noted by Lee, he is continuing to go through individual drills.

It’s been a long, difficult, and well-documented road back for Roberson after rupturing his patellar tendon during a game in January 2018.

He suffered a setback before the start of the 2018-19 season after working back from the initial injury, and although he participated in training camp this fall, Donovan has hesitated to indicate whether or not he believes Roberson will officially return any time this season.
