Earlier this week, a blockbuster trade went down in the NFL. Longtime Falcons receiver Julio Jones was sent to the Titans via trade.
It’ll be a bit weird to see Jones in a new uniform, but the league is no stranger to seeing wideouts change teams later in their careers. Heck, Buffalo isn’t either.
Hall of Famer and former Bills receiver Andre Reed saw his home change in 2000, the final year of his career. After 15 seasons in Buffalo, Reed finished up in Washington with the Football Team.
Combining the recent news with Bills history, Reed has a slight edge up on Jones in one manner, according to NFL Research.
In his Bills career, Reed had 199 more receiving yards than Jones had in his Falcons career:
Most Rec Yds by WR Before Switching Teams – NFL History
Jerry Rice SF➡️OAK 19,247
Tim Brown OAK➡️TB 14,734
Isaac Bruce STL➡️SF 14,109
Andre Johnson HOU➡️IND 13,597
Andre Reed BUF➡️WAS 13,095
Julio Jones ATL➡️TEN 12,896— NFL Research (@NFLResearch) June 7, 2021
Naturally the NFL is a much more pass-happy league now, but Reed does find himself on a list with some other very impressive Hall of Fame names. Jones will likely shoot up this list in short time as well.
