Amazing but true: Rams are below .500 for 1st time in Sean McVay’s career

Amazingly, this is the first time the Rams have been below .500 with Sean McVay as their head coach

The Buffalo Bills just did something to Sean McVay no team has ever done before. They sent his team, the Los Angeles Rams, below .500 for the first time in his career.

Seriously. In five years (and one game), McVay has never had a losing record as a head coach – until now. The Rams’ 31-10 loss to the Bills sent them to 0-1 on the year, which is not the way they wanted to start the year.

Prior to Thursday night, the Rams had been 5-0 in season openers under McVay, winning a couple of those games fairly easily. But this was by far the best team they’ve faced in an opener, with the Bills being the Super Bowl favorites entering the 2022 campaign.

The Rams will have a great opportunity to get out of their 0-1 hole next week against the Falcons next week, hosting Atlanta at home. If they can’t beat the new-look Falcons, led by Marcus Mariota, that will be the real time to panic.

Until then, it’s just one game out of 17. McVay and the Rams should be fine in the long run.
