Former Alabama star wide receiver Amari Cooper is set to hit free agency ahead of the 2020 regular season and he’s made it clear he has no intentions on leaving his newest home, the Dallas Cowboys.

During an interview on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, Cooper stated, “I love being a Dallas Cowboy. I love everything about it. I think about it every day,” Cooper said. “Just the aura of being a Dallas Cowboy, you can’t beat it. I want to be a Cowboy for life.”

After being drafted by the Oakland Raiders with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Cooper had a slow start in the NFL. His talent was recognized from his incredible collegiate career under Nick Saban, but he wasn’t getting those big-time numbers.

It wasn’t until he was traded to the Cowboys in 2018 for a first round pick when the NFL started seeing what the former Biletnikoff award winner was capable of.

In the interview Cooper acknowledges the strong relationship he has with his quarterback, Das Prescott, and how it was a good pairing from the first day.

At the end of the day money is the motivator for being a player in the NFL, and if Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wants his top receiver to stay in Dallas, he has to pay up.

Media outlets across the country have stated other teams should take a look at the receiver, but with Cooper’s comments, it’s unlikely that he will be going anywhere anytime soon.

Roll Tide Wire will keep you updated on his free agency and relationship with the Cowboys.
