New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones could barely move during a Week 14 game against the Arizona Cardinals as the result of a right hamstring injury, but that wasn’t his only issue.
During the course of taking nine QB hits and absorbing six sacks, Jones also suffered a sprained left ankle, leaving him with two bum wheels and no spare to rely on.
#Giants coach Joe Judge told reporters that QB Daniel Jones suffered a different injury besides the hamstring and I’m told he sprained his ankle in the second quarter last week. His status is in doubt for Sunday.

“We’re evaluating both equally. I wouldn’t say one is more of a concern than the other,” head coach Joe Judge told reporters on Wednesday, simply referring to the ankle sprain as a “lower leg” injury.
“We will see where he’s at this week, starting today,” Judge said. “He’s optimistic.”
Jones’ optimism is all well and good, but a running quarterback with two injured legs isn’t exactly a major threat to opposing defenses. That was abundantly clear last Sunday when Jones completed a career-low 11 passes and did not even attempt to run for the first time in 25 NFL games.
“He’s not going to tell you if he has a booboo,” Judge said, downplaying Jones’ injuries.
As the Giants took the field for their first practice of the week on Wednesday, Jones warmed up and did some light jogging but did little else.
Should Jones be forced to sit out for the second time in three weeks, veteran Colt McCoy would draw the start against Cleveland with either Alex Tanney or Joe Webb likely backing him up.
