Alperen Sengun outduels Victor Wembanyama in Spurs loss to Rockets

In the San Antonio Spurs’ loss to the Houston Rockets, Alperen Sengun outperformed Victor Wembanyama.

As the years go on, there are going to be fewer and fewer games in which Victor Wembanyama is not the best player on the court. The San Antonio Spurs star has been amazing this season, and his talent on both ends of the floor has him primed to be a top-tier star in the NBA for years to come.

But on Tuesday night, Wembanyama got burned. The Spurs were taking on the Houston Rockets, and fellow international big man Alperen Sengun worked Wembanyama. Not only did he outperform the Spurs rookie, but he also earned a 114-101 win for the Rockets.

The House of Highlights YouTube channel posted a video about the duel after the game.

Sengun ended the night with 45 points, 16 rebounds, three assists, five steals, and one block while shooting 19-of-32 from the field and 2-of-3 from deep.

Meanwhile, Wembanyama had 10 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and seven blocks while shooting 4-of-10 from the floor and 2-of-5 from distance.

In the second half, Wembanyama scored zero points to Sengun’s 30.
