Tennessee has emerged as a favorite in the recruitment for four-star linebacker Edwin Spillman.
The 6-foot-1, 220-pound linebacker is from Lipscomb Academy in Nashville, Tennessee.
Spillman is the No. 246 overall prospect in the class of 2024. He ranks as the No. 27 linebacker nationally and the No. 4 player in Tennessee, according to the On3 rankings.
Spillman discussed his recruitment with Vols Wire.
“Tennessee is and has always been in my top five,” Spillman said. “My relationship with the Tennessee coaches is awesome and I am most communicating with coach BJ (Brian Jean-Mary) and coach (Josh) Heupel.”
His brother, Nate Spillman, signed with the Vols last season.
Spillman discussed about potentially playing with his brother and feedback he has provided about Tennessee’s program.
“Yes, it would be really fun to play with my brother,” the 2024 prospect said. “He has told me that Tennessee is the place to be and that they are building an unbelievable culture over there.”
Spillman does not have a commitment date set, but he wants to make a decision this summer after his official visits. He confirmed the Vols will receive one of his official visits this summer.
“I will most likely be committing to a college in the summer,” Spillman said. “I will be taking an official visit to Tennessee this summer.”
Spillman mentioned he is wanting to find a system that is best for him, as well as finding a place that is going to make the 2024 prospect a great man and a great football player.
