Alan Wake 2 is playable ‘from start to finish,’ says Remedy

The highly-anticipated sequel is further along than most expected.

It’s been quite a while since there was any update on Alan Wake 2, though developer Remedy has confirmed the game is already playable “from start to finish.”

In Remedy’s 2022 financial statements release, the studio gave a brief update on Alan Wake 2 (thanks, VG247).

Alan Wake 2 is in full production. The game will soon have all content in place, and it is playable from start to finish,” reads the statement. “We will then move on to polishing the experience.”

We caught a brief glimpse of Alan Wake 2 way back at the 2021 Game Awards. That reveal trailer is, sadly (for horror hounds like me), the last time we’ve seen anything from the game.

Interestingly enough, Remedy expects that the sequel will renew interest in Alan Wake Remastered – which came out in 2021.

Alan Wake Remastered has not yet generated royalties,” the statement continues. “However, we expect the sales to increase as the release of Alan Wake 2 becomes imminent and fans and new players want to experience the original story on new generation consoles.”

In addition to Alan Wake 2, Remedy is also working on Control 2 and the Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes.
