In a contest that has been famously coined as the ‘Third Saturday in October’, the Alabama vs. Tennessee matchup is one that fans look forward to each and every season.
The Alabama and Tennesse rivalry dates all the way back to 1901 when the two schools battled to a tie in Birmingham.
This series has been made up of streaks by each of the programs. Alabama is currently on a fourteen-game winning streak against the Vols, the longest in the series history for either team. Tennessee once held a seven-game winning streak over the Tide from 1995-2001, the longest streak any school has had over the Crimson Tide.
Overall, Alabama has a series advantage of 57-38-7 over Tennessee.
The Alabama vs. Tennessee rivalry will be renewed this Saturday inside of Bryant-Denny Stadium at 6:00 pm CT on ESPN.
