Alabama wins thriller vs. Tennessee to advance to SEC Championship

Alabama softball advances to the 2021 SEC tournament championship after a late lead change that fueled a Crimson Tide comeback.

Alabama softball won a very close game against the Tennessee Lady Volunteers with a final score of 5-6. The Crimson Tide advance to the SEC Tournament championship game against Florida.

Alabama went up early with two runs in the bottom of the first, after allowing one run to Tennessee in the opening half inning of the game.

Montana Fouts was the star of the show. After throwing a complete game less than 24 hours ago, she pitched the first five innings of the semifinal. She was then taken out and Lexi Kilfoyl entered the game.

Kilfoyl was removed after only successfully getting three outs, she unfortunately let up the lead in the sixth inning.

Fouts re-entered the game to close it out.

She finished the game with five hits allowed, three earned runs, one walk and 13 strikeouts.

Bailey Hemphill was the difference maker.

Down by one in the bottom of the sixth inning. Hemphill blasted a two-run shot over the centerfield wall to give Alabama the lead.

The Crimson Tide will face off against Florida tomorrow for the 2021 SEC Championship.
