Grading Alabama’s nail-biting win over the LSU Tigers

For the first time in a long time, the Alabama defense carried the water. The defense was not perfect by any means, but they made the stops when they mattered.

Will Anderson Jr. and Phidarian Mathis continue to wreak havoc in opposing backfields, but the emergence of freshman Dallas Turner might be the story of the game for the defense.

Turner wracked up his first two career sacks against the Tigers and was seemingly unblockable late in the contest.

Even though LSU had a rusher go over 100-yards, the Tigers averaged just 2.7 yards per carry as a team. Through the air, Max Johnson completed just 50% of passes for a mere 160 yards.

This was one of the better all-around performances for the Alabama defense in a while.
