One of the main offseason transfer additions for the Alabama Crimson Tide this past offseason, offensive lineman Parker Brailsford was recently named to the preseason watch list for the 2024 Rimington Trophy.
The Rimington Trophy recognizes the most outstanding center annually in college football, and is an award that the Crimson Tide last won in 2020 when Landon Dickerson took home the hardware.
Brailsford, a redshirt sophomore, transferred to Alabama during this past offseason as mentioned previously, coming to Tuscaloosa after two years at Washington under new Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer. These two years included a big 2023 season in which he became one of the top centers in all of college football for the national runner-up Huskies.
Due to both Seth McLaughlin and James Brockermeyer having transferred during the offseason, Brailsford is now expected to step into the Crimson Tide’s starting center role this season, as well as be among the top players at the position in the SEC.
