Alabama Softball falls short to Kennesaw State 5-3 to close the Easton Bama Bash

No. 7 Alabama fell to Kennesaw State by a final score of 5-3 on Sunday. The Tide will return to Rhoads Stadium to play Southern Miss on Wednesday.

The Alabama softball team closed the Easton Bama Bash with a close loss to Kennesaw State. The Tide fell 5-3 on Sunday afternoon.

Alabama had made it look relatively easy through the first four games of the tournament. However, the Owls gave the Tide more than they could handle in Game 5.

Kennesaw State out-hit Alabama 10-4. Patrick Murphy’s squad was unable to string together enough timely hits to come from behind.

Graduate senior Ashley Prange led the offensive approach for the Tide. Prange went 1-for-2 at the plate while also driving in two runs. The rest of the team combined to have three hits on Sunday.

Jaala Torrence picked up the loss on the mound after throwing three innings and allowing three runs.

Alabama fell to 11-3 on the new season while the Owls improved to 4-10. Alabama will return to action on Wednesday night to host Southern Miss. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CST.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the Alabama softball program.
