By grabbing nine of the 13 first-place votes, Alabama is the chosen favorite to win the Southeastern Conference, as voted on by league coaches.
Alabama takes the number one spot by earning 138 points and receiving nine first-place votes out of a possible 13. The Crimson Tide begins the season ahead of LSU (two first-place votes), Florida (one first-place vote), Tennessee (one first-place vote) and Kentucky to finish out the top-5.
The Tide finished the shortened 2020 season with a 14-8 record, earning wins over North Carolina, Washington, and Arkansas. This season’s team all seven seniors from last season’s squad, including outfielders KB Sides and Kaylee Tow.
Alabama opens the 2021 season in Austin, Texas on Feb. 12 by taking on Colorado State and No. 6 Texas, as part of the Texas Classic.
