When it comes to the Iron Bowl, the impacts of the result extend well beyond the field of play, and one area that you certainly see that is in recruiting.
The Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers consistently battle for many of the top prospects in-state every year, and 2024 is certainly no different.
When taking a look at this year’s in-state class as well, there are numerous prospects that rank among the nation’s best at their respective positions, a group that features a few Alabama and Auburn commits.
One of these names is quickly becoming one to watch as well in Anquon Fegans, an Auburn commit whom Alabama is reportedly pushing hard for just ahead of the Early Signing Period according to On3 recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong.
Attending in-state power Thompson High School in Alabama, Fegans ranks as the nation’s No. 58 overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting cycle according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, as well as the No. 6 overall safety. A four-star prospect, Fegans is also the No. 3 player in the state of Alabama.
An Auburn commit, Fegans has also been committed to the Tigers since July of 2024, and is currently ranked as Auburn’s fourth highest-ranked commit in their No. 5 ranked 2025 class.
