Alabama Ranked Top-5 in ESPN’s Post Spring Power Rankings

ESPN’s Mark Schlabaugh posted his “College Football post-spring Top 25 power rankings”, which has the Crimson Tide in a familiar place.

As the drive to “get back to normal” keeps moving along, Alabama Football continues to show dominance following spring practice, their first since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.

Now that more programs are concluding their spring practice, ESPN’s Mark Schlabaugh released his “College Football post-spring Top 25 power rankings”, which features the Crimson Tide in a familiar place, the top-5.

Alabama checks in at No. 2 in the article that was posted on Tuesday. Despite having ten players drafted in last weekend’s NFL Draft, Alabama is still a contender for the College Football Playoff at season’s end, even though Schlabaugh thinks that the road to the title will be tough.

Schlabaugh says in the post that Georgia may have more talent, Oklahoma may have a more explosive offense, and that Ohio State and Clemson may have an easier road to the College Football Playoff, he is not writing off the Tide to have a great season.

“Until someone knocks the defending national champions off their perch, however, I’ll go with the Crimson Tide to win the SEC once again and get back in the CFP — even after losing six first-rounders in last week’s NFL draft,” said Schlabaugh.

Georgia joins Alabama in the top-5 of Schlabaugh’s power rankings from the SEC at No. 3. Oklahoma grabbed the top spot, while Clemson and Ohio State round out the top-5. Other SEC teams mentioned were Texas A&M (No. 7), Florida (No. 17), Ole Miss (No. 19), and LSU (No. 20).
