Alabama QB Bryce Young shares thoughts on Patriots hiring Bill O’Brien

Bryce Young shared his thoughts on Bill O’Brien going to New England.

Alabama quarterback Bryce Young had nothing but positive things to say about New England Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien when he met with the media on Friday.

Young played under O’Brien at Alabama and had a chance to see him work up close. O’Brien served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the program for the 2021-2022 seasons.

He will be tasked with leading a New England offense that was stagnant at times last season. Furthermore, he will have the task of revitalizing quarterback Mac Jones, who struggled mightily in 2022. Young believes New England is getting exactly what they need in a coordinator, when he spoke to reporters on Friday.

He sees New England and O’Brien as a great fit, according to NESN.com’s Dakota Randall.

“I loved OB,” Young said on Friday. “They’re getting a great play-caller, great football mind. He helped me a lot to develop and grow and really come into my own. He helped me in a lot more ways than people know. So, I love OB. Definitely, I know he’s gonna do great things up there.”

New England will need O’Brien to deliver results, after struggling offensively last season. Multiple personnel around the league have lauded O’Brien as a good hire. New England fans are hoping it pays off.
