Last night, Alabama punter Skyler Delong was no longer listed on the Alabama team roster, and according to sources, Long has not entered the transfer portal.
By Tuesday morning, he was back on Alabama’s team roster. But according to 247Sports:
“his initial removal was not a mistake…the door isn’t completely closed on DeLong’s time at Alabama. He is mulling things over and could still choose to stay.”
So, there’s no certainty for what DeLong will choose to do.
We could see him stay, or he might choose to transfer. It looks like this is still up in the air. And there doesn’t seem to be a timeline for when his decision will be made.
DeLong played in 12 in the past two seasons, 5 of which were in 2019.
In his career, he has recorded 26 punts for 881 yards, and averaged 33.9 yards per punt. 7 punts landed inside the 20 yard line, and 2 punts were 50+ yards.
He was eventually replaced by freshman Ty Perine who went on to be named to the SEC All-Freshman Team.
Roll Tide Wire will keep you up to date on the very latest regarding DeLong and his future.
