Alabama MBB reaches out to Santa Clara transfer Carlos Stewart

The Alabama coaching staff has reportedly reached out to Santa Clara guard transfer Carlos Stewart.

Alabama has reportedly reached out to Santa Clara guard transfer Carlos Stewart, according to 24/7 High School Hoops’ on Twitter.

Stewart signed with Santa Clara after spending his high school career at The Dunham School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was Louisiana’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2020-2021.

As a freshman, Stewart played in 33 games, averaging 5.4 points per game. He was primarily a bench player in his first season with the Broncos.

As a sophomore, he took on a larger role for Bill Carr’s squad. Stewart averaged 15.2 points per game, 2.4 rebounds per game, and 2.3 assists per game. He also shot an impressive 44.1% from the floor and 40.3% from beyond-the-arc.

He will be one of the most sought after guards in the transfer portal. Along with the Tide, several other programs have reached out including: LSU, Georgia, Texas A&M, Clemson, Creighton, and Gonzaga.
