Former Alabama forward Galin Smith took to Twitter to announces his top three schools to transfer to for the 2020-2021 college basketball season.
Smith entered the transfer portal late April and is listed as a graduate transfer which means he will be immediately eligible for playing time.
The timing of his decision does not come as a shock to many seeing that Alabama head coach Nate Oats has been hot on the recruiting trail, earning the Crimson Tide a top-20 ranking for the 2020-2021 recruiting class.
He’s not the only member of the 2019 squad to transfer. Raymond Hawkins and Jaylen Forbes also transferred from the Crimson Tide program.
The Mississippi native was a regular face for Alabama basketball fans to come off the bench. In the 2019-2020 season, Smith tallied 97 points, 79 total rebounds, 24 blocks and 25 turnovers in his 31 appearances.

His three remaining landing spots are:
- Maryland
- VCU
- Arizona State
Alabama fans are certainly thankful for his contributions to the team in his three years with the Crimson Tide.
