Alabama’s 2021 recruiting efforts are off to a slow start when it comes to commitments, but the coaching staff continues to do work trying to build another top class.
On Sunday, the Crimson Tide found itself in good position for defensive tackle Katron Evans out of Baltimore (Md.). The four-star prospect announced his final eight schools via his Twitter account, and Alabama was included:

Of the eight finalists for his services, five of them were from the SEC, including Auburn, Georiga, Tennessee, Florida and, of course, Alabama.
Evans possesses a lot of the skills needed to be a successful player in Nick Saban’s versatile defensive scheme. At 6-foot-4, 320 pounds, he’s got the size and length required, but he’s also powerful with a good first step.
At this point, Evans is viewed more as an early-down run defender, but he’s also got the physical makeup to develop as a pass rusher.
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Evans is rated as the nation’s No. 181 overall prospect, No. 10 defensive tackle and No. 8 player from the state of Maryland.
