Alabama makes cut for 2023 WR Hykeem Williams

The no. 7 wide receiver from the State of Florida has listed Alabama among his top college choices.

Alabama Football learned Sunday that they are still in the running for one of the nations top receivers for the 2023 class.

[autotag]Hykeem Williams[/autotag], a four-star receiver from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has listed Alabama in his top-6, as posted on his Twitter account on Sunday.

Joining Alabama in Williams’ top-6 are fellow SEC foes, Georgia and Texas A&M, as well as three Atlantic Coast Conference programs in Florida State, Pittsburgh, and Miami.

In an interview by Hayes Fawcett of On3, Williams credits the relationship that he has built between two assistant coaches led to Alabama making the cut.

“It’s Alabama man, I mean what wrong could you say about them? Also, I’ve built a good relationship with (wide receivers coach) Holmon Wiggins and coach (Travaris Robinson).”

According to director of scouting for On3, Charles Power, Williams’ strong suit is his body control and burst of speed.

(Williams) possesses the balance and agility to make defenders miss in the open field as well as the juice to get upfield and pull through arm tackles after the catch. Has a big frame that carries his weight with ease. Measured 6-foot-2.5, 193 pounds with a 6-foot-4.5 wing-span as a junior.

Williams is the no. 7 rated wide receiver for the 2023 cycle according to On3. During his junior season for Stranahan High School in Fort Lauderdale, Williams caught 31 passes for 693 yards and six touchdowns.
