Alabama football continues its run of landing promising recruits on Wednesday by landing 2024 tight end, Martavious Collins. He chose the Crimson Tide over other schools like South Carolina, North Carolina State and LSU. The commitment wasn’t much of a surprise as On3’s RPM was heavily in favor of the Tide at 97.3% likelihood. Collins is the second commitment for the ’24 recruiting class. The other commit is Foley High School wide receiver, Perry Thompson.
Collins is listed as both an athlete and tight end depending on the recruiting service. He is listed at 6-foot-3, 241 pounds out of Rome High School in Rome, Georgia. His size could certainly be an issue for opposing teams at the collegiate level, as it could present matchup problems for other defenses. Along with having the size, he also possesses raw athleticism. Collins also competes in track and field at his high school.
His commitment is huge for the 2024 class. When asked by Hank South why he chose the Tide, here is what Collins had to say:
“I picked Alabama because everybody is held to a high standard,” Collins said of his decision. “The competition level, I’ll be competing every day against top-notch people. The practices are different from a lot of colleges I’ve seen. I would love to be a part of those types of workouts and practices.”
