Alabama lands former Mississippi State commit, 2024 TE Jay Lindsey

2024 tight end Jay Lindsey announced his commitment to Alabama on Tuesday. Lindsey had previously been committed to Mississippi State.

Alabama received some good news on Tuesday as 2024 tight end Jay Lindsey announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide. Lindsey had been committed to Mississippi State for over four months before de-committing on Aug. 26.

Lindsey plays for Patrician Academy in Butler, Alabama. Interestingly enough, Lindsey competes in the AISA, which is separate from the AHSAA. Meaning, he competes against other private schools within the association as opposed to facing public schools. The last player that Alabama recruited out of the AISA was tight end O.J. Howard.

Lindsey is the second tight-end commit for the Crimson Tide in the 2024 class. The other is four-star Caleb Odom. Alabama’s coaching staff sees Odom as more of a pass-catcher while Lindsey is viewed more so as an in-line blocker.

Alabama had been working hard to get Lindsey on board. Now, the Alabama native is part of a recruiting class that ranks among the best in the country for the 2024 recruiting cycle.
