Alabama lands commitment from Washington transfer TE Josh Cuevas

On Monday night, Washington transfer tight end Josh Cuevas announced that he was transferring to Alabama. Cuevas spent last season with the Huskies.

Alabama has landed multiple players via the transfer portal this offseason. On Monday, that number increased as Washington transfer tight end Josh Cuevas announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide.

Cuevas, a California native, spent two seasons at Cal Poly before transferring to Washington. Throughout his college career, Cuevas has reeled in 66 receptions for 888 yards and seven touchdowns.

Given the lack of volume, it is impressive to see the amount of yards that Cuevas has picked up. At 6-foot-3 and 239 pounds, Alabama will likely use Cuevas as an in-line blocker and pass-catcher.

The addition of Cuevas gives the Crimson Tide six tight ends. It will be interesting to see how offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan decides to use the tight ends that he has next season.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the latest regarding the Alabama football program and its involvement in the NCAA transfer portal.
