No. 2 seed Alabama is in a scary position at halftime, as No. 15 seed Iona is only one point behind the Crimson Tide with a halftime score of 32-33.
Alabama has continued their fast-paced offense, but can’t seem to find the bottom of the net. John Petty is 1-5 from behind the three-point line, if Nate Oats wants his team to advance beyond the first round, he’ll need Petty to heat up.
Turnovers have also been a problem for Alabama. They’ve given the ball up 10 times in the first half.
Iona ended the half on a 7-0 run.
Overall, Alabama’s offense is to blame for the one-point lead. Only shooting 20% from three, and 41% on field goals isn’t helping.
Defense is what is keeping Alabama in the game, because even though it is the smallest lead possible, it is still a lead.
A No. 2 seed has already fallen to a No. 15 seed during this tournament. Ohio State fell to Oral Roberts yesterday in a shocker. The Crimson Tide will try their hardest to not have a similar fate.
