Alabama freshman wide receiver to enter NCAA transfer portal

A sixth Alabama wide receiver has entered the transfer portal.

After fellow wide receiver Jaren Hamilton did so earlier Thursday, Alabama Crimson Tide wideout Amari Jefferson is reportedly set to enter the NCAA transfer portal as well.

Jefferson becomes the sixth wide receiver from Alabama to enter the transfer portal this offseason, joining others such as Kendrick Law, Kobe Prentice, Caleb Odom, Emmanuel Henderson Jr., and the aforementioned Hamilton.

A freshman, the 2024 season was Jefferson’s first in Tuscaloosa, but the wide receiver did not see any action, and as a result, redshirted at seasons end.

Prior to Alabama, Jefferson was considered as a four-star wide receiver in the Crimson Tide’s 2024 recruiting class out of Baylor School in Tennessee. The former four-star originally committed to Alabama over a list of finalists that included the in-state Volunteers, among others, and according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Pete Nakos, Tennessee could be a team to watch for as a potential destination for Jefferson.
