Alex Leatherwood, Offensive Tackle
It was really difficult to make a prediction for Alex Leatherwood’s looming draft decision. On one hand, it’s easy to see the former No. 1 offensive tackle being a first-round pick to protect a NFL quarterback’s blindside.
On the other hand, it’s also possible that Leatherwood could solidify a first-round status, and maybe even emerge as a top 10 pick, if he returned for his senior season.
A lot of draft projections include Leatherwood as the No. 4-7 offensive tackle behind, at least, Iowa’s Tristan Wirfs, Georgia’s Andrew Thomas and fellow Alabama tackle Jedrick Wills Jr.
Will that be enough to convince Leatherwood to stay? That remains to be seen, but it would be fun to see him remain at left tackle while also seeing former five-star Evan Neal shift from left guard to right tackle.
What he should do? Stay.
