Alabama football: What each NFL draft-eligible player should do

Which Alabama juniors should leave school early for the 2020 NFL Draft?

When Dylan Moses suffered a torn ACL during fall camp, it was a major blow to both him and the Alabama defense. Coming into the year, the former top linebacker prospect out of Baton Rouge (La.) was projected to be a top 10 pick.

After the injury, his draft status seems a lot more up in the air. With the talent that he’s shown on the field, it’s hard to see Moses falling out of the first round.

There will be those who point to former Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith, and his fall Day 2 back in 2016 following an ACL tear, but that was a different circumstance.

Smith had suffered his injury during the team’s bowl game, which of course takes place at the end of the season. There were also concerns about a nerve in his knee, but that hasn’t stopped him from posting back-to-back 100-plus tackle seasons for the Dallas Cowboys.

In fact, Smith’s emergence as one of the NFL’s top young linebackers actually helps Moses as how the league could see him. Moses has never been known for being injury prone, so it’s just a matter of getting back to 100 percent.

The decision as to whether he will leave or not will ultimately come down to his own preference. If he doesn’t mind going in the middle to late first round, he’ll probably leave. If he wants another chance at being a top 10 pick, he’ll probably come back.

What he should do? Either way.
