Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson tide will take the field for the first time in 2020 to kickoff the new season in Columbia, Missouri. The season will be unlike anything college football fan’s have experienced before.
While some conferences and programs are preparing for their third game of the season, Alabama and the SEC are getting ready for their season-opening matchups.
The Crimson Tide open their 2020 season that will feature a 10-game, conference-only schedule against Missouri on the road. A game Alabama is heavily favored in by oddsmakers.
Saban has told the media that injuries are not an issue as the season begins. Only one player will miss Saturday’s contest due to injury.
The player in question is junior college transfer defensive back Ronald Williams Jr., who will miss the game because of a broken arm he suffered less than a week ago and quickly received surgery afterward.
Other than Williams, the full roster is available to play on Saturday.
When exploring other reasons as to why players may not be available on the sidelines, such as coronavirus and opting out of the season, Saban says everyone is good to go.
In a quote tweeted by Dave Matter of STLToday.com, Saban states that no one is “out for sure.” However, testing for the virus within players on the team is daily.
