Alabama’s opening week game against the USC Trojans at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, has been cancelled after the Pac-12 announced its teams would play a conference-only schedule in 2020.
Yes, that was unfortunate news, and, yes, that means the Crimson Tide is looking for a new opponent to open its season on Sept. 5, but, as of right now, that is still the target date to open the season. Until that changes, we’ll continue the countdown to kickoff.
With it now being July 16, we are officially 51 days away from the start!
Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Tanner Bowles is currently wearing the No. 51 for Alabama, but another former quarterback protector, offensive guard Evan Mathis, is most famous for rocking the number. Mathis played for the Tide from 2000-04.
On the NFL level, multiple former Alabama linebackers are wearing the number, including Browns linebacker Mack Wilson and Washington linebacker Shaun Dion Hamilton.
