Alabama’s regular season is now over, concluding the 2021-2022 season with back-to-back losses that only hurt the Crimson Tide’s resumé heading into the offseason.
The team will enter the SEC Conference Tournament as reigning champs from last season, but will open as a No. 6 seed and will face the winner of No. 11 Georgia and No. 14 Vanderbilt in the first round of the tournament.
Depending on how Alabama performs, the program’s seeding for the upcoming NCAA Men’s Tournament will be impacted.
The latest projection based on USA TODAY Sports’ Bracketology update has Alabama as a No. 6 seed facing Miami (Fla.) in the opening round.
Joining the Crimson Tide in the Midwest Region would be some familiar opponents: Baylor, Kentucky and Houston.
Alabama has struggled with consistency all season long. It always seems as if one crucial piece is missing. Despite not closing out the season strong, Nate Oats will look to change his team around in the postseason to make a run for it all.
