Another weekend of college football action is in the books, and with that, the week four edition of the US LBM Coaches Poll was released on Sunday afternoon.
The major story out of this week’s coaches poll is that the Alabama Crimson Tide have slid down the rankings for a second-straight week after struggling against the USF Bulls in a 17-3 win on Saturday afternoon. The Crimson Tide this week fell from No. 10 to No. 12 while Notre Dame, Utah, and Oregon all moved up two spots to No. 9, No. 10, and No. 11, respectively.
The week’s biggest winner is the Ole Miss Rebels, moving from No. 16 to No. 19 after a 48-23 win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Ten different programs this week moved up two spots from their spot in last week’s rankings.
The Tennessee Volunteers, coming off a 29-16 loss to the Florida Gators, are one of this week’s biggest losers. The Volunteers dropped 11 spots from No. 9 to No. 20, allowing Louisiana State, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Duke, and Colorado to all move up this week. The Kansas State Wildcats fell 11 spots as well, following from No. 15 to the equivalent of the No. 26 spot in the rankings. Chris Klieman’s program is the first team out of this week’s rankings, with 144 voting points, 42 points behind No. 25 UCLA.
New to the rankings this week is the Washington State Cougars. The Cougars, now 3-0 on the season, defeated Northern Colorado this week 64-21. They enter the poll at the No. 24 spot.
