Following a successful 2020-21 season, Nate Oats’ squad has received high praise from Jeff Goodman’s Way Too Early Top-25 for 2021-22.

In the article released Monday, Goodman put the Crimson Tide at No. 8 in his early poll. Goodman believes that Alabama will have plenty of playmakers thanks to a solid mix of players returning — Jaden Shackleford, Jahvon Quinerly, etc. — and newcomers such as five-star point guard JD Davison and JUCO transfer Langston Wilson.

Alabama’s NCAA tournament counterparts UCLA (No. 3) and Maryland (No. 5) also made the list. From the SEC, Elite Eight representative Arkansas and powerhouse Kentucky join the Tide in the poll.
