Alabama basketball defeats Georgia on the road in OT

Alabama was able to get a much needed win on the road in Athens, Georgia as Alabama defeated the Georgia Bulldogs, 105-102 in overtime. 

On Saturday night, Alabama was able to get a much needed win on the road in Athens, Georgia as Alabama defeated the Georgia Bulldogs, 105-102 in overtime to snap a three game losing steak.

The Crimson Tide attempted a total of 72 shots and made 38 of them for a field goal percentage of 52.8 percent. Alabama also made 21/30 free throws for 70.0 percent percentage.

The highest scorer was Kira Lewis Junior who finished the game with a career high 37 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists. John Petty also had a show with 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. As for other scorers on the night, Davis had 13 points, Shackelford had 10, and Reese put up 7.

Alabama held Georgia to a 38.8 percent field goal average as they only made 39 of their 80 shots. The Bulldogs did beat Alabama in free throw percentage as they were able to made 17 of 21 for 81 percent.

Alabama moves on to 13-10 (5-5 in the SEC) while Georgia drops to 12-11 (2-8 in the SEC).

Alabama will be heading to Auburn on Wednesday for a game that will be nothing but intense. Alabama beat Auburn 83-64 in their last showdown in January in Tuscaloosa.
