Yes, Aidan Hutchinson has some things on the mind that aren’t individual accomplishments. He’s a Heisman Trophy finalist, and just won MVP in the Big Ten Championship Game.

But he’s already adding to his trophy case in advance of the College Football Playoff.

The Rotary Lombardi Award, named after famed coach Vince Lombardi, is given to the nation’s best lineman, on either side of the ball. He joined Iowa center Tyler Linderbaum, Iowa State outside linebacker Mike Rose, and Texas A&M offensive lineman Kenyon Green in Houston for the ceremony.

It was announced on Wednesday night: Aidan Hutchinson has officially won the Lombardi Award.

Hutchinson is third in the nation overall in sacks in 2021, having notched 14, a Michigan football single-season record. He also is the highest-rated defensive player in all of college football, per PFF, with a 94.7 grade.

Previous winners include LaMarr Woodley, Manti T’eo, Ndamakong Suh, Warren Sapp, Terrell Suggs, and David Pollack.

Certainly, he hopes that a sign of things to come, including the Heisman Trophy, and a national championship for his Michigan Wolverines.
